DarLING Withdraws PERMIT AMENDMENT APPLICATION

Darling Ingredients decided to withdraw their permit amendment application that would have increased emissions from the facility.

It should be noted that Darling can re-submit for another permit amendment at a future date. TCEQ officials have also confirmed previously that during permit amendment review periods, TCEQ must wait for the review period to close before they can “evaluate compliance with other existing permit violations.” This means the facility can operate in violation of its current permit while the permit amendment is under review.
